So, what self-respecting poker playing man would read a book called, The Badass Girl's Guide to Poker: All You Need to Beat the Boys? Or even worse, write a book review? I confess.
But, let me explain. My name is not James Bond. When a gorgeous, provocative female sits down at my table, well, let's just say that I am no calm, cool, collected Agent 007.
There is an old saying about, 'knowing your enemy'. Of course, it is a bit of a stretch to believe that we men could ever hope to understand that 'enemy'. But, I thought I would give it a try. And, what better way than to read one of their secret, game plan books.
Obviously, it must have been written in code. Because, it read just like a really entertaining poker book, full of anecdotes, tid bits, extras, and even some good advice (even for us guys). That it was a pretty good poker book, should not be too big of a surprise. Turns out the author, Toby Leah Bochan, graduated from UT, Austin. Get the connection? Texas Hold'em, University of Texas. Never mind.
Anyway, Bochan covers the poker scene for About.com. You can use this link to subscribe to her newsletter. She is always coming up with interesting poker stuff.
